For the moment, wood wicks are reserved for some private label (please see Wholesale/Private Label page for details) candle lines, but in the future, we hope to utilize them for another line or two. 

The wood wicks that we use come from Makesy (formerly Wooden Wick Co.) and are the patent holders for these types of wicks. Specifically, we use the crackling booster wicks which have a smaller piece of wood attached to the center. For our candles so far, we use the .04” thickness, .75” width.

Wood wicks make a delightful crackling noise as they burn and add to the ambiance of the candles, though they may not be for everyone. Unlike cotton wicks, there can be a variance in each wick, so you may find that it doesn’t burn quite as consistently as a cotton wick, but with testing, we haven’t seen where it affects the candles’ performance.

Like cotton wicks, these should be trimmed before every burn to about ¼ inch.
