It’s been said that the pen is mightier than the sword. I mostly believe that (though if someone were to come at me with a sword, hopefully I have more than a pen). All jokes aside, words have power. And what are inside books? Words. Lots and lots of words.

Reading has always been a magical, enjoyable escape for me. Being able to go to other places, even other worlds via a book was my favorite thing as a kid. Still is, come to that. I expanded on this by then writing about the myriad of worlds, characters, and creatures that took up residence in my own head.

What Does This Have to Do with Candles or Wax Melts?

Novels, particularly fantasy novels, were my go-to reading material and still are. Nothing triggers memory and imagination quite like scents do. Visuals are great, but scents can transport you to times and places you may have long forgotten. I knew I wanted to make candles (and wax melts) based on my favorite fantasy novels and series so that I could be transported even when I don’t have my nose in a book. And now you can too!

What Do I Get When I Buy a Product from Scribblin’ Quill?

Our candles and wax melts are hand-poured and made with soy/coconut wax (soy wax for wax melts), blended with quality fragrance oils specially made for candles/melts and formulated to help transport you to those different worlds. They go through rigorous testing for safety as well as quality and enjoyment.

The Owners

Jess and Matt Brown are a husband and wife team that have been married since 2009 and share a love of books and candles, among other things. Jess is the creative force, coming up with the scents and concoctions. She is also in charge of the production. Matt handles the back end, such as the website and fulfillment. He is also a great guinea pig for Jess to test out some of the scents on.

The Future

There is the hope that as time goes on, there will be more candles and wax melts, but we will also be able to offer more candle/melt collections, each with different looks, feels, and scents that will fit in with any number of decors and tastes.
