Soy/Coconut wax is a natural wax. The particular wax that is used for the Unabridged Wonder collection is specifically the Golden Brands 454 Soy/Coconut blend. The one thing I love about it is the silky texture on the top of the candle. It can be a little tricky to get smooth on the first few go-arounds. I had to do a lot of testing and find the right temperature to make sure the tops were smooth after pouring.

It has excellent hot throw (meaning that when burning, the scent it throws off is strong), it doesn’t separate from the glass often (frosting), it resists frosting (where little crystals bloom over the surface of the wax), and nice smooth tops.

This particular blend is predominantly soy, though the ratios are proprietary. The added coconut wax helps with the hot throw and the frosting that soy is often known for. None of these things affect how a candle burns or performs, but as candle-makers, we can be a bit of a perfectionist!
